Erec Tablets 100 mg (Sildenafil)

Composition:

Each tablet, with a double dot, contains:

• Erec Tablets 100mg of Sildenafil.

Properties:

Erec Tablets 100mg (Sildenafil) competitively inhibits the phosphodiesterase type 5 (PDE5) enzyme. Inhibition of this enzyme increases cyclic guanosine monophosphate (cGMP) stores, a secondary mediator of nitric oxide, which leads to vasodilation. This process relaxes the smooth muscle cells in the corpus cavernosum, increasing blood flow and raising internal pressure, resulting in an erection. Sildenafil at recommended doses has no effect in the absence of sexual stimulation.

Indications:

• Treatment of erectile dysfunction.
  

  Dosage and Administration:

• Typically, half a tablet (50 mg of Sildenafil) should be taken orally one hour before sexual activity.
• Dosages may range from 25 mg to 100 mg, once daily.
• For patients with liver conditions, severe kidney failure, or those over 65 years of age, the recommended dose is 25 mg.
  

  Contraindications:

• Sildenafil should not be used in men who are advised to avoid sexual activity due to cardiovascular conditions.
• Patients using organic nitrates in any form should not take Sildenafil.
• Individuals with retinal disorders such as optic nerve atrophy or severe vision problems should avoid this medication.
• Sildenafil is contraindicated in patients with hypersensitivity to the active ingredient or any other components of the tablet.
